When you distribute music as a new artist, streaming platforms (DSPs) automatically generate your artist profile, but they do not have your images or biography yet. We as your distributor only sends audio files and artwork (metadata), not a profile photo.
Here is why your accounts have empty profile pictures and how to fix it:
Why Profiles are Empty
Automatic Generation: DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) create profiles on the fly upon the first delivery of music to ensure the track can be released, but these are placeholders.
No Image Uploaded: Distributors do not typically send artist photos to DSPs as part of the standard distribution process, only album art.
Awaiting Verification: Platforms need you to "claim" the profile to prove you are the owner, after which you can upload media.
How to Fix Empty Profiles
You must claim your profiles on each platform to customize them:
Spotify: Use Spotify for Artists to claim your page after your first release.
Apple Music: Use Apple Music for Artists (web or iOS app) to upload a profile picture.
Amazon Music: Search for your artist name in the Amazon Music for Artists app and tap "Claim".
Deezer: Use Deezer for Creators to claim your page after your first release.
Other Platforms:
βTidal and others: Use the Distributor link provided on their websites and claim you account by following their instructions and onboarding steps.
Important Notes:
Timeline: It can take 24β72 hours for new photos to update after you upload them.
